7 Lessons I Learned After Raising Triplets, Plus One

When I found out I was expecting triplets, I had no idea how much life was about to change. Years later, I realize how much I've learned about motherhood, faith, grace, patience, and what truly matters. I certainly don't have all the answers, but these are seven lessons that have stayed with me. Maybe one of them will encourage you too.

1. Love Doesn't Divide—It Multiplies

I feared I couldn't love three babies and my oldest daughter equally, but love expands. Each child received a mother's love, varying by season, and God's love covered us then and now.

2. Sometimes "Good Enough" Really Is Good Enough

Reality defied my perfectionist ideals. Sometimes dinner was frozen, and laundry waited. Perfection often hinders peace.

3. Presence Matters More Than Perfection

My children don't need a perfect mother, just a present one. They cherish laughter, conversations, hugs, and a loving home more than perfection.

4. Asking for Help Isn't Weakness

Raising triplets taught me accepting help isn't failure. It allows others to use their gifts and is often how God answers prayers.

5. God Meets Us in Ordinary Moments

Sweet memories lie in ordinary moments: cuddles, tiny hands, playtime, and bedtime prayers. Holy moments often occur in the mundane.

6. Children Spell Love T-I-M-E

Children remember time spent together, not expensive things. Time is a precious gift we can always offer.

7. God's Grace Is Bigger Than Mom Guilt

God's grace surpasses all regrets. Guilt can't change the past but can steal today's joy. Jesus offers grace and new opportunities to love our children daily.

Looking Back with Gratitude

If I could go back and tell my younger self anything, I think I'd simply say this:

Take more pictures and videos.

Laugh more.

Rest when you can.

Accept help.

Don't compare yourself.

Trust God more than your fears.

Your children don't need a perfect mom. They simply need you.

And through every sleepless night, every messy room, every hard season, and every joyful one, remember this:

God is raising you while you're raising them.
